A few years back when Dad and I both were at the National Hardware Show in Las Vegas we came across a product that boasted it would remove oil stains in concrete and asphalt. Dad was not a big believer because he said “They all say that.” So the rep sent a gallon and it was my job to try it.
Drive Up Super Cleaner is a degreaser that has the ability to drive up an oil stain not only from the surface of concrete but from beneath the surface so that your stain just doesn’t reappear after a few days. It works on concrete and asphalt. No need to scrub or use a destructive high pressure hose on your concrete. Drive Up will clean parking lots, sidewalks, driveways, trash receptacles, gas pumps, pool areas, lawn mowers and so much more. For cleaning concrete use it full strength on dry surface and let it work for two hours. Apply with a pump up sprayer for big areas or a hand held sprayer for small spots. You will use a lot less product that way. Then hose it off. I use my Little Big Shot hose nozzle on the highest pressure. You can dilute it down and use it to clean grills (it is food safe), floors and outdoor decks.
The cleaners in Drive Up are biodegradable, and will not harm your landscaping when you rinse off the concrete. There is no smell or no caustic fumes. It works on fresh stains or old inherited stains from previous home owners. Drive Up Super Cleaner is made in the USA, and it’s the best oil stain cleaner I have ever used.

Question: I have bought an older home at a great price. The only thing wrong is the sliding glass door is really heavy and jumps when you try to open and close it. I don’t want to install a new door because the opening is not standard and besides being difficult to open and close it is just fine. So do you have any ideas on how to make this a better door?
Answer: We had the same thing happen to Dad at a lake house he bought. The door opening was bigger than any door opening I have ever seen. It jumped and dragged and made using the door a big ordeal. So we cleaned the track (it was real dirty) and sprayed a lubricant like no other. It’s called Tri Flow. It’s very different from other lubricants because it doesn’t attract dirt and dust. It’s the dirt and dust that will keep the track from rolling smoothly. Tri Flow is PTFE Teflon- based and we like to call it liquid ball bearing. You can use it on mirror doors, sliding glass doors, drawer slides, hinges, and anything else that is giving you problems. Now if the track is bent, you can install a new cap over the track. Just straighten out the old track with a pair of pliers and snap the new stainless steel track right on top.
Question: Trudy a while back you talked on the radio about an alarm for detecting leaks. I am trying to remember what the name is so I can get one for my attic hot water heater. The same thing happened to me that happened to you. But I am not letting it happen again. A $5000 leak was a little expensive. I am putting these alarms on every sink and toilet upstairs.
Answer: Maybe we all have to learn that way. The name is called Leak Alert. And as soon as you have a small leak (they all start out that way) under the sink, toilet or water heater the Leak Alert will send out an alarm that you will hear all over the house. Then you can turn off the water to the sinks or toilets and fix it yourself. Or call a plumber if it’s you hot water heater.
Question: I have a garbage disposal that smells and has not been draining right since our 4th of July party. I know you cannot just put anything down that side of the sink, so what can I do?
Answer: The best item is called Instant Power Disposal and Drain Cleaner. It will open up the drain and leave it smelling like citrus for a long time.
