What if I told you about a lock that didn't need a key? Took a combination but didn't need batteries? You could install it on the gate to your yard and never have to worry about where the key is- or if any one could open it without you, unless they had the combination. When we were at the International Hardware Show in Las Vegas we were so impressed with the Yardlock. Trudy was most impressed because she always had to go home and open up the backyard for her yardman. And one time her sweet older dog, escaped and was lost for 2 days. But with the Yardlock she can give the yardman the combination, he can open the gate and it will lock when the gate closes. No more half open gates. It only takes minutes to install. The only tools you need are a drill and a screwdriver. And you can install it at any height, so if a child is needing in the backyard it can be installed lower for ease. And if you carrying items you can open the Yardlock gate lock with one hand. No more rusty locks, no more lost keys – and it can double as a lock box. It's dependable in extreme weather. Yardlock will improve security for your yard. For less than $50 – and a few minutes installation – you have a secure yard.
A few weeks back I wrote about the mailbox Retro-fit. I had quite a few calls about it and some of your even needed a larger mailbox lid. Well I am happy to write that the Retrofit now comes in a large size and we will have them soon. Retrofit Mailbox Lid is a easy replacement lid for those bricked in mail boxes. If someone has bent the lid and it will no longer stay closed, it is a major job to remove the whole mailbox and replace it. But with Retrofit all you have to do is remove the broken lid, and snap on the new lid and you are back in business. The Retrofit comes in white, black and galvanized. The Retrofit cost less than $45.

Question: Johnnie I have got brass hardware on my front door. The original coating has worn off so I have to polish them. I have been using B....., but it isn't as effective as I'd like. Is there one that you recommend? Also I've read that after you polish brass it will it will help keep the shine on it if your apply a coat of wax to the clean surface – do you think this is a good idea?
Answer: I like to use All Gleam as a metal polish. All Gleam is my favorite because it not only cleans brass, but aluminum, pewter, chrome, silver most any metal. And it doesn't have a smell. So get the handset all polished up and then spray it with Superior Shield. Now that will keep the handset looking good for a long time. While you are sprucing up that handset, clean and protect your door with Sunwax.
Question: My grandma gave me a beautiful table. It's been in the family for many years. And the other night someone left a glass of ice tea sitting on the table and the next morning I noticed a white ring. If grandma comes for Thanksgiving, she will not be pleased with the table. Tell me what to do.
Answer: All right calm down. Use a product called White Ring Remover. It's a small towel that you just wipe across the cloudy ring. It will remove the moisture that is trapped in between the layers of wax. Grandma won't know a thing.
Question: Like a idiot, I located my gas grill too close to the brick veneer on my house. There are now some light smoke deposits on the brick. I have tried power washing with a electric washer to no avail. Is there a product or procedure that you would suggest to clean the bricks?
Answer: Mix up TSP granules and very hot water. Using gloves because TSP is a very strong cleaner, scrub the brick with a stiff bristle brush and then rinse with water.
