I just moved so I have a new set
of neighbors that I get to talk to. My neighbor across the street
was power washing his exposed aggregate driveway the other day and
working really hard. Power washing is not a easy job, and it is
really hard on the concrete. We saw 30 Second Outdoor Cleaner
about 2 years ago at a hardware show and I thought it was a great
product. I had him send me a couple of gallons and tried it out on
my own driveway. I liked it because it was not a acid. It’s
biodegradable when washed into the yard. It will clean off mold and
mildew. It will even clean off that grimy kind of mildew without
scrubbing. It works on a variety of surfaces, concrete, lumber,
asphalt, canvas, plastic outdoor furniture, awnings and vinyl siding.
The 30 Second Outdoor Cleaner doesn’t damage your concrete
or decks like a power washer can. If you have oil on the driveway
use Drive Up Super Cleaner. It’s a concentrate that you can
use full strength, or add water for a lighter stain. Just apply the
Drive Up Super Cleaner, to your oil stain keeping it wet
for a hour. ( I like to spray it every 15 minutes with a hand held
sprayer) Then after spraying the last time, I give it a little scrub
with a broom and then rinse with water. Then wait until it’s
completely dry( a couple of days) …if the stain is completely gone
your done. If there is a shadow, you can apply the Drive Up Super
Cleaner again using the same method as before. It can be used on
concrete, lumber, quarry tiles, and asphalt. So now that you have
your driveway cleaned, how do you keep it looking good? Use the
Drylok Wet Look Sealer. It provides a superior finish, and
durability. Drylok Wet Look Sealer provides excellent
resistance to gas, oil, and weathering. So once you clean the
driveway, or garage floor you have a protection from future dirt and
oil staining. Drylok Wet look Sealer will also protect
against efflorescence in concrete floors. If you have any other
questions about how to clean the driveways, sidewalks, or garage
floors…email me at firstname.lastname@example.org. I promise to make
your cleaning job a easy one!
Now to the email….
Question: I have a front loader that
has a musty smell. I have tried every suggestion using everyday
items. But none of them work. Can you tell me a product that you
like to use to keep the musty smell out of the washer? Love the
washer, hate the smell.
Answer: There is a product called
Washer Magic that is made just for your problem. It will
clean out the residue from a buildup of soap that can really
accumulate in the front loading washers. They use a lot less water,
but can really develop a smell over time. Just put the Washer
Magic in the same way that you would put in your regular
There is a sister
product to the Washer Magic. It’s called Dishwasher Magic. If
your dishwasher is not cleaning as well as it used to, it might have
a build up from hard water and soaps. The Dishwasher Magic stays in
the dishwasher longer (because of the packaging) and has a chance to
clean better than other dishwasher cleaners.
Question: I have some beautiful
hardwood floors. And in my study I have my computer and printer and
other electrical equipment. I use a surge protector on everything.
I hate the way they look …why can’t they make one that does the
job but is not that awful color. I try to hide them, but when I walk
in the room it’s the first thing I see. I thought if anyone knew
of a better option, you would. Do you have any ideas?
Answer: I saw these 2 young kids (ok
at 83 – everyone is a young kid) and they had these surge
protectors that are wood colored. And these are really good surge
protectors, not just a power strip. They blend right into the wood
floors and come in 3 wood tones. There are called Invisiplug.
