Zep Mold And Mildew Stain Remover

I just got back from Indianapolis at the Do It Best Show and I have to tell you it was a great show. Some of the things readers asked me about just were not there…at least not yet, but some things that you didn’t ask about were and as soon as they start coming in you will be the first to know. I have to tell you about one thing though….now remember we do not have it in yet, its light bulbs. There will be a new design on LED light bulbs and it is great. The price will drop which will make it very affordable. The new bulb will be a daylight color with a brightness of 750 lumens and will sell for about $6.50 a bulb. LED bulbs right now sell for around $16.00 so you can see there is a real savings. There is nothing that changes faster than the light bulb industry. But now I want to talk to you about mildew in the bath on grout. If you are one of those diligent cleaners and you towel dry your shower out after every use, but if you don’t do that (me) you develop mold and mildew on grout. If you have white grout between your ceramic tiles using Zep Mold and Mildew Stain Remover is the best cleaner for the money. Zep products are commercial strength products sold at retail stores so that you get a strong cleaner that is not watered down, and they are always very reasonably priced. Zep Mold and Mildew Stain Remover comes in a quart and you simple spray it on and let it work. Now, if you have severe stains that leave a dark shadow on the grout even after cleaning you can always brighten up that grout with a Grout Aid Pen that comes in two sizes and 3 colors ranging from white to almond to buff. Telling you about how much difference a grout aid pen can make on your grout does not really adequately explain it. Do you remember how your grout looked when it was new? That’s what a Grout Aid Pen can do for your grout. Grout Aid Pens retail for under $7.00, has a reversible tip, and no fumes. Don’t stress over dirty looking grout, just use the Grout Aid.

Now to the email…..

Question: I just installed new wood flooring and to protect it I put felt adhesive pads on the feet of all my furniture. Well the pads have not stayed on the furniture and now I have the stickiness of the pads on my new wood floor. How do I safely take off the sticky and what can I put on the legs of the furniture?

Answer: Use the Tub of Towels (yellow tub) to safely remove the adhesive left by the felt pads, and then rinse with water. My favorite floor protectors are made by Magic Sliders. They were the original Teflon sliders that made moving your furniture so easy. They make a slider that you just easily tap on and some that are self gripping in case you can’t put a nail into the leg. I really like to put them on my big pieces of furniture because then I can move my furniture around without damaging my wood floors.

Question: Trudy, good job continuing your Dad’s article! I have a piece of concrete that broke off the walkway and I want to put it back in place. What product would work to adhere it back into place so that the walkway is safe?

Answer: Let’s try something simple first and if it doesn’t work we will go to plan B. Sascho Sealants makes a product called Lexel that will stick to anything and its waterproof instantly. Since you have the piece just use the Lexel to glue the concrete back into place and then secure it using a pipe clamp so that it cures straight and level. If you need to cover up any crack on the top of the concrete, use the Slab. Slab is made to seal concrete cracks so that no moisture can get into the crack and cause damage.
