Take all the work out of turning on the outside faucet. Allows more water to come out of the faucet, and turns off with a quarter of a turn. Replacement is very easy. Turn the water off at the street, take your old faucet, put tape on the pipe threads, and then screw the new faucet on. Turn the water back on. NEVER HAVE TO REPLACE THE WASHERS, because it's a ball valve. This is the male.
